Picatinny rail
The Picatiny rail is a mechanical device that allows you to add a scope mount, laser beam or other optical accessories to a weapon. It also makes it possible to modify the original rail mounted on the weapon during its manufacture. Practical, the rail is used to efficiently complete and improve the use of a weapon without disassembling it. The Picatinny and Weaver rails are almost similar. Accessories designed for a Weaver mounting system will in most cases fit a Picatinny rail. The reverse is in most cases also possible, but not always.
