What form can the defence gun take?

There are several types of guns that can be used for home defence. They are used when people break into your home or threaten you on your property. They are non-lethal and can be used to scare away these bad people without seriously injuring them. How do they work? Which models are available over the counter? What do they look like? The alarm gun

The alarm gun is a replica of an existing firearm. It can fire blanks, flash blanks, CS gas and pepper spray.

When loaded with blank ammunition, it emits the same detonation as a conventional gun. This coupled with the realism of the weapon should scare off aggressive individuals who think they are dealing with a real gun.

When loaded with gas bullets, it projects an incapacitating substance that causes the same effects as a bomb or tear gun. This is the time to run away and call for help when the attackers are hit.

The tear gun

The tear gun is a tear gas canister that is easier to handle. Like a conventional pistol, it has a grip and a trigger to improve aiming.

It is loaded with gas or tear gas cartridges. The gas is used outdoors to deal with several individuals, whereas the gel is preferable for indoors and to confront an aggressor. The incapacitating agents contained in the cartridges are the same as those in tear gas canisters: natural pepper or Orthochlorobenzalmalononitrile, a powerful chemical agent. Both cause burning sensations, automatic eye closure and paralysis for several minutes. The only difference is that pepper also acts on aggressive animals.

The most innovative tear guns can be equipped with a laser sight and a magazine containing several gas cartridges.

The CO2 rubber bullet gun

To operate, the rubber bullet gun is loaded with ammunition and a CO2 cylinder. It does not actually shoot bullets but rather rubber and chalk balls. Realistically, it takes the form of an existing firearm.

Like the alarm gun, it emits the same detonation as a conventional gun when loaded with the rubber balls.

The gomm cogne

The gomm cogne takes the form of a basic gun. Although it is not a replica of an existing gun, it emits the same detonation when fired. It is loaded with rubber pellets or buckshot (several shots in one go).

Please note that the gomm cogne is a powerful weapon that is subject to declaration. Several documents must also be presented at the time of purchase.

The flash ball gun

Considered the most dangerous, the flash ball gun is loaded with rubber bullets. Unlike the CO2 gun and the rubber gun, the ammunition is not pellets but bullets with a larger diameter (about 40 millimetres). When you pull the trigger, the bullet is propelled at about 80 m/s and can reach a distance of 12 metres.

The flash ball is therefore classified in category C and is subject to declaration. A number of documents must also be presented at the time of purchase.
